Why isn't there a "Make a Donation to MaleSurvivor" icon on the homepage? It'd at least raise visitor awareness about the need for money, and it would facilitate the process for those who'd actually like to give a few dollars.

Also, how about a few quotes from guys about why they actually joined MaleSurvivor to encourage more men to do so?

MS Administrators, please reply.

Thanks.

JM

James Michael...you are right, thank you! At one time we had such a link on the home page. Was probably removed during the recent upgrading. I am sure we can fix that.

Actually I recently drafted a letter, I am awaiting it to be posted on our site. It addresses our Discussion Board and why we have made some recent changes. It also addresses another VERY IMPORTANT issue, a request for Discussion Board users to actually join MaleSurvivor should they be so inclined. Additionally, we have requested all who visit our site to consider sending a donation to MaleSurvivor. With the number of visitors we get to our website, if everyone sent a few dollars it would make a TREMENDOUS difference! For those who wish to remain anonymous just send a money order to our Washington DC PO BOX.

I also ask all those who wish to donate to please check with your company to see if they will match your contribution to our NON Profit Organization, as many companies will do.

Another opportunity where individuals may be able to help...MaleSurvivor will be conducting a Silent Auction at our Minneapolis conference in September of 2003. Should anyone wish to contribute an item we could auction please feel free to contact me. We hope to have a wide variety of items for individuals to bid on, with 100% of the proceeds going to MaleSurvivor. I have an authentic New Jersey Devil's jersey signed by goalie Martin Broduer which will be just one of several sports items for auction. Other items might include, jewelry, artwork, gift certificates, rare coins, crystal or glass artwork etc...

Lastly, IF YOU SHOP ON-LINE, please don't forget to access Amazon.com through our website...you can find almost anything, it's not just books. A portion of the proceeds of any item purchased when you have enetered their site from ours, goes to MS.

The fact is, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT (and financial support is not the only way one can help our cause) so, in whatever manner you may be able to contribute we are truely grateful to each and everyone of you who help us to continue our mission! THANK YOU :)

Sparky: Get a Carolina Hurricanes jersey signed by goalie Kevin Weekes, and I'll be the first to bid on it!... :p

If I can get to the Conference...

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to decide what books to put in the shopping cart at Amazon.com...

JM: I join you in encouraging all the men here to really think about joining MS. I've noticed a few people new to the site joining right away...

BTW, JM, if you'll come up with a "testimonial" quote, I'll come up with one too!... :)

Hi Mark,

Good to see your letter.

I have ordered a few things from Amazon through our site, including a boom box. But I do not know if MS ever got the $$ for it. I suspect it would only be a few dollarts. But I do try to buy everything through Amazon, even when it would be cheaper to just go to the local Borders of Barnes and Noble--it is a hidden support of MS.

You have given me some ideas about things to auction off. I'll see what I can do.

Wuamei...I think I might be able to get a Carolina Hurricanes jersey signed by Kevin Weekes, I will work on it!

But I guess you will have to work on getting to the conference in Septemeber.

Hey Sparky that's really cool!

If it's physically, emotionally & financially possible, I plan to be at the conference!

BTW if there's anybody(s) who might be heading up to Minnesota from or thru Eastern NC in September, maybe you could PM me and we could see about sharing expenses, comraderie, etc going to the convention?
