Over the next few days we will be posting announcements on the home page as well as more detailed announcements on this discussion board pertaining to improvements to the website.

We will be seeing upgrades to the discussion board and chat and start to see previews of what the new site is going to look like.

As part of this transition we will be migrating to a new server and will have some down time probably around the first of the week. More detailed anouncements as to any down time will be posted on the home page as we develop specific time lines.

Look for more details here and on the home page over the next few days.

yes...the entire history of our board will still be here...and I believe we have the search function working again on the upgraded version as well

What is there to improve upon? (I never had to maintain a website so maybe that's a dumb question?)

I am glad that we will have a better was to search for old post. As one who has been here 5 years I know the importance of go back and seeing how our healing journy has changed.

Hope we have a spell check function.

I have been using phpBB2 for 6 years and like it alot. vBulletin in nice but $$$$

We are staying with UBB, the same company that developed the software that runs our current discussion board. They no longer support our current version and we are upgrading to their best version.

We will at first have more of an off the shelf look but as we continue rolling out the new site we will be customizing the DB more.

The chat room will be a new program entirely and will be cooridinated with the Discussion Board...

You will use the same login and password, rather than having to have two seperate accounts...The new chat room also has a lot more user options such as colors, avatars etc...

some things will be up with the conversion and some will be added later...

I am sure there will be problems...actually as we are in the middle of the migration as we speak, and we are having un forseen problems already, I am pretty sure there will be something that happens that everyone will see...I can't imagine things would go so well we didn't..lol..

but...I am firmly convinced that we will all look back once we are through with all the aspects of rolling out our new site that it will me really worth it...

I wish I could show everyone what we are doing, but a lot of it is just not ready for the web yet, but we are really going to have a first class site here and after all...we do deserve the best...

The people we are working with are donating a significant amount of time...software, etc...and we are getting so much more than what we are paying for...

I am really impatient to have the whole site up, but I know it is going to happen this time for sure...
