same experence that I have had . that is the only person that would understand it

Michael,

Only you can say whether therapy is helping you, but you know, there are a lot of different approaches to therapy and it may be that you have just not found someone that you can connect with yet. Or, for example, have all your therapists been of one gender? If you have been seeing male therapists, maybe the issue is that you need to be talking to a woman. I myself would find it very difficult to talk to a man about my issues.

Have you seen Ken Singer's article on the site about choosing a therapist? He has a lot of good ideas that you might want to consider.

A group may give you a lot of personal support, and sure, perhaps that's what you need. But if you find such a group you might want to ask yourself whether the members really do understand what has happened to them. They are there for answers, same as you.

I'm not trying to argue, just raising some thoughts.

Much love,
Larry

I am in Claremore and have been trying to get in a survivors group for some time. No one is interested in us here. The normal places, Rape Counseling, etc. have no interest in male vistims. Hell, the have dropped their vicitims discussion even for females.

I have had the worst weekend in such a long time, can't see my therapist until after the 1st of the year, basically no one cares but the people that have been abused.

Private message me and lets see if what mutual avenues for group sessions we have explored. I have about decided that male survivors have only themselves to help each other, everyone else wants to pretend we don't exist.
