Looking for a therapist

Hi everyone.

I am currently looking for a therapist in the Los Angeles area, and am finding it a much harder thing to do than i had imagined. I am a survivor, and would be seeking a therapist who could help me process some of the events; guide me in levels of understanding and forgiveness, and not use their intellect to diminish my experiences.

I have aspergers syndrome. This means that I don't think in words, which I have been told is how non-aspergers individuals think. I think in pictures which leaves me no choice but to follow interaction in terms of the meaning of the overall image of a conversation, and makes it impossible for me to follow conversation by only words. Because of being born thinking in this way, I also speak in impressions, as aspergers individuals experience/process things sensorilly rather than through words. Rather than reiterate information, I would only have the ability to respond based on what I have experienced (that is sacry, that's beautiful, etc). Please forgive my grammar and spelling. It turns out there is almost nothing I can do about it; as with the way I would talkl after experiencing events. Thanks for your patience and understanding in advance. (I have been very depressed about this diagnosis, but am coming to understand for the first time why I could not learn from words in and out of school, which has finally given me the oportunity to finally forgive myself for not being able to stop the abusers.

If you know of any therapists in the Los Angeles area, or a hotline or other service that might be able to help me locate a therapist, I would greatly appreciate any and all help on this. They would also have to be caring and thoughtful, as aspies don't understand rudeness or theatrcalized body gestures meant to diminish others experiences.

Thanks much, and God / Mother Nature bless us all.
