I have just begun the "Healing" or survival training process. I saw a counselor yesterday and have made the commitment to myself to do this. I never told a soul for 10 years then I supressed it best I could once again. 6 years later which brings us to present day (the sexual abuse stopped 16 years ago). I am just now getting around to dealing with this, I am going to take what is left of me and repair myself the best I can. I am so greatful to have found this site, and plan to be an active participant. Any suggestions or comments are will be appreciated. Thank you for your comments also you all.

Hang in there,
also there is a chat room,
when logging on to this site instead of the discussion form, one can log on to the chat room, where one can talk with someone in real time instead of post a note, to read later.

Hi Matt,
I'll tell you the same thing that was told to me when I first found this site. Welcome and Im sorry you even need to find a site like this. Im also just starting my recovery from my abuse. I have found lots of good friends on here and yes the chat does help a lot, it's a safe place for me anyway. Good luck.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I have been wound sooooo tight lately kinda like a spring and actually yesterday before I found this site I had a bad bad day and snapped during a stressfull situation and had the worst panic attack EVER!!!! I was 100 miles from home with a semi after having a stressed out time dropping off some eggs at the grand opening of a new grocery store in my area. The entire situation freaked me out and I lost it and since I have given up drinking I have been a little high strung anyhow. So here I am hauling ass home in a semi so I can be in my safe place which is home, and I get pulled over doing 80 in a semi in a 55mph construction zone. That sucked. Anyhow after a big ticket and all I got home and after my wife got me mellowed out she went to bed and I went online and found this wonderful sight. It is unfortunate that any one of us has to find this site, but it is good to have it. Thanks for the welcome and am looking forward to being a friend. It was nice to read some other peoples stories and see that I am not the only one. Thank You Thank you.

Glad you found it too Matt. I'm pretty new to this forum myself and even just reading helps. Lets you know you're not alone.
To me, that by itself is worth a great deal.

Matt
never stop learning, never stop asking questions.
