Just had some fun

Just had some fun
I just got a PM from one of my friends here that asked me how my day was going. The following is my reply. It is not a big thing; it is just a fun thing. Today for just a short time, I got to be a kid.

I have had a very good day so far; today, I got to go to Kindergarten with Teacher V______, she is my wife. We made caramel popcorn. I took a small kettle and put lots of unpopped corn in it with olive oil. The kids all sat on the counter across the kitchen from the island where the stove was. That way they could all see. As the corn started popping, the small kettle filled up and I had to dump the popped corn into a big bowl with out dumping any of the unpopped corn. (That part takes lots of practice) Eventually the little kettle was empty and the big bowl was full. However, right at the end, just before all the corn was popped, I dumped all the rest of the unpopped corn into the bowl too. That way, some of the unpopped corn popped right out of the big bowl and all over the kitchen. It made a mess; it made the kids laugh too. It was loads of fun.

Then Teacher V______ cooked up the sticky caramel and dumped it over the bowl of popcorn. Then came the best part. We all got sticky faces and hands. It tasted good too. We laughed and were silly.

Love ya

Darel it is fun to be a kid isn't it. I think we all let the little one in out to play when he knows we are there to protect him. Sounds crazy but what the hell I guess I am that too.

Darrel,

Sounds like you had great fun with all the kids. Good for you! :)

Much love,
Larry

Darrel,

I'm just as envious of your day as can be. Sounds like a blast, and like you surely enjoyed yourself as much, and probably more, than the kids. Just goes to prove that "it's never to late to have a happy childhood." (Wish I'd coined that phrase, but I didn't!)

I wish I was there.

Darrel - another good childish thing to do is, buy a tub of bubbles & stand outside on a mildly windy day. You can either slowly blow massive bubbles sideways into the wind, or just stick the hoop in the windflow & watch a stream of bubbles just drift away!

My sister bought me a tub of bubbles for christmas - I am 49 going on?

Best wishes ...Rik

I'm not actually - I'm only 48 (just know my birthday is going to be a good one this year, that's why I keep adding a year on).

Best wishes...Rik

That's sounds like fun, and I like to fly kites too!

Hey guys,

I had a blast last week with the Hispanic night foreman where I work. We have an overlapping hour when we are both working just before I leave for the day. We were sitting in my office talking about what needed to be done that night when this bunch of valentines helium baloons went swooping past my window in the breeze. I quick jumped up and rushed out and caught them. I brought them in and we had loads of fun sucking in the helium from the baloons and talking like our favorite cartoon characters. We giggled and played like little kids for about 20 min. It was the highlite of the week. I just wish there had been some little kids there to do it with. Would've made it even more fun.

Lots of love,

John

My wife and I just got back from COSTCO. While there, I picked up a 3D Dragon kite. It has a 67 inch, (170 cm) wing span. My wife already has a big owl kite. So one of these Fridays, when the wind is right, we'll be flying kites with her kindergarten class.

And John, that sounds like loads of fun.

Love ya,

Darrel
