DO YOU READ OF ALL THE SADNESS BEING POSTED. WE ALSO NEED TO SHARE SOME OF THE TRIUMPHS THAT WE HAVE OVERCOME BECAUSE OF OUR BRAVERY. BECAUSE OF OUR INNER WILL. BECAUSE OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE US.

Good point South--we do see some wonderful successes here.
Read Ethan's story about his adopted son today. That brings smiles to me for sure.

Being positive and hopeful is as important as talking about our grief.

Hi South of NY & welcome to the MS family.

Thanks for another important reminder. A good friend has been nudging me lately on this matter of being more positive, focusing on the positive sides of things, the good things that are there even with all the bad ones.

Like my wife, my two daughters, my support group, my friends, a good health care team, and of course MS.

BTW I'm south of NY too! Actually I was born in Manhattan, raised in FL, lived back up North mostly in PA for several years, then went to KY & been in NC over 10 years and loving it. Been to Columbia before, for a conference; got a friend or 2 around there too.

Take care & welcome again. Thanks for your encouraging post.

I agree South!! Thanks for pointing to Ethan's post, Dean!! I read this after posting to Ethan's post!! It is important to vent, let things out and ask for help. BUT it is also necessary to refocus on the positives as well. A saying I have is 'Don't tell me what you can't do BUT tell me what you can do'. I find if I stay on the negative mode too long, it is like sitting in the middle of the road waiting for a car to come by and clobber me :( - and generally it does! But after venting, I try to look around for what I can do...that gives me direction; focuses me up off the middle of the road and gives me something to do for myself - some way to go from here!
Sometimes, I come to this site and purposesly look for positives to encourage me!
They are here! :) I'd like to encourage more though!!!
Thanks for posting guys!!!

It seems it would be fair to say that we come here to post what we need to at the time. Sometimes it is a rant, sometimes grief, sometimes confusion and sometimes joy and success in something.

We are just pleased that we have all found this place and have come to trust our brothers here.

South,
I have to admit it. I usually come here just to stress out sometimes. I am a secondary survivor that is more stressed out than I want to admit. I come here + hurt with people here. But we now know what is normal for a kid that was raped as a kid+ I am glad this is here. Everybody needs to look at the up side of things, but so often at malesurvivor everyone is just deep down in a hole that anything positive is looking up. I will post MrEdd's positive updates today or tomarrow in Family + Friends.
WITH MUCH LOVE,
Kim

Roll out the good stuff, let's hear it
