My BF's case against his perp gets reviewed tomorrow to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed with an investigation. Keep your fingers crossed for the both of us.

He was 17 when it happened and it has been 17 years since... this case has been a long time in coming - hopefully this investigation will proceed and be successful and can bring some kind of closure to my BF so he can move on to the next part of his life.

I hope it works out well...it would be a victory for all of us.

Thanks - also along with this investigation my BF is also planning on informing his parents about what happened. They still dont know 17 years after his abuse that it happened. I am not so sure how they are going to react - they are quite quiet/reserved, conservative, also kind of lower middle class and not educated about such things.

I am fairly sure that even now, based on their past and their current set of beliefs/lifestyle, they are not really able/willing/eager to talk about things like sex/relationships (which is why my BF sought out the "mentoring" of another adult figure to discuss things like girls, relationships, sex, etc.... (which led to his sexual abuse).

I just have a hunch his parents probably wont say much to him. Its kind of their "family way" to sweep everything that's important and real under the rug. I certainly hope they dont blame him for the abuse. He was just such a naiive kid when it all happened.

Last weekend I revealed to my parents, more than 25 years after it happened. I was worried about how they would react.

They were generally supportive, and my mom said, "It's good that you're getting help." But even if they had tried to ignore it, change the topic or said nothing, I'm pretty sure I would have felt better about getting it out of me.

I hope your BF gets results that brings him some kind of relief, both with his parents and with the review.

Keep your fingers crossed.. BF will find out this week if the case will proceed... the hearing was on Friday July 4..
