I Travel at the speed of sound

The well-worn path to where I’m bound

And in an instant I am found

It’s not a place that I would choose to go

This ticket that was booked for me

has no refund, and so you see

I go when the conductors call my name

No destination I’ve not seen

the places all where I have been

unfortunately, In times of greater pain

Still, I am compelled to go

For fear the everlasting foe

Has told to me this place once more defend

That little one who once was me

Fights on against insanity

And in my head the battle must go on

And then exhausted I’m brought home

Knowing well, again I’ll roam

To see these places, past the speed of sound.

"I go when the conductors call my name" is an excellent way to explain how we sometimes find ourselves on certain paths to certain destinations. I suppose the destinations are unknown for some, but I can usually figure out where I will arrive once the momentum starts (but rarely when).

This stanza rings truth for me.
I feel that battle daily in my own head
