i started running again.

i am running another 5K run coming up - for
the Zoo Foundation in a couple of weeks.

I am not ready - but I can walk it - and it'll be good to be there.

so tired.

but the one social thing i am liking here now - is Sundays.

I am part of a club now called Frontrunners -
which I did when in San Francisco - and Florida.
And now here.

For anyone - who likes to run and is gay - though all are welcome - it's great.

The guys at this club - meet half a block from my house(Church Street.) Then after the run - they all meet for coffee - at the Timothy's on Yonge Street - half a block from my house:)

So we all sat for coffeee - I was talking to a couple -

one was an anesthesiologist and one was a corporate professional-

they had been together 10 years -

and were so very fun - calm - intelligent -

and good.

they got married on their tenth anniversary - this April.

They talked about their nieces and nephews -

and their dogs at home - and their weekend house, they go to often.

Though they are saving for the future - they talked of how they do a really a fun thing every other weekend - it's like carrot that keeps them going -

anyway - ttyl

Mark,

I love running, if only for the fact that it gives me the feeling that I'm going someone, changing my scenery for a bit, all while getting some much needed exercise. Listening to music while I run makes it that much more intense. Music makes running for me much more of a cathartic experience. I'll be honest, a lot of all that anguish and suffering I feel at times during the day gets squeezed out as I am pushing myself to go farther and faster, music acts as a catalyst. Once I am done, I usually experience a feeling of euphoria, probably from all the endorphins being released.

I wish I knew of a running group out where I live. Although I probably wouldn't want to run with people all the time, it would be nice to do it maybe once a week. Having someone there running with me would change the dynamics of the experience a little bit, and I know I would love to socialize with people after having just ran. It's great that you have found that, I hope it makes those moments of running that much sweeter.

google frontrunners -

there might be one near you

God, what a memory - your post reminds me that in the mid-70s two friends and I in Beirut used to get up at 5:30 am every day, rain or shine, and go down to the athletic field of the American University to run. I could usually go three km before I had to stop. We were showered, finished with a leisurely breakfast and ready to face the day by 8:00 am - it was great!

Much love,
Larry

cool.

bad knees, but swimming and biking are good too!

getting hit by a car at 8 and 20 left me with

knee problems. Walking is good though.

true michael - i walk too

and when i am not ready for a 5K - i walk too -

even in a race -

it's funny - a fella at the gym - who i think is very nice - and has an interesting perspective

said to me once - when i was exhausted -

but still on the cylce - when he was -

he said "mark - 'killing yourself on the cycle would be counter productive' "

it seems clear now - as i have come to know this -

but truly if work - or excercise - is taking away the intended goal - then - it's something to think about -

with bad knees - i am glad you do take good care!

:) in both ways

yay michael j!
