I just found out something the other day

The other day, my grandmother told my mother her deepest secret. Something my grandmother never told anyone else, even my grandfather. When she was 16, she was raped by one of her older brothers. My grandmother is almost 86 and has started to confront those issues. She told my mother that she never enjoyed sex because of it. She did it only out of duty. Seventy years since then, yet my grandmother is ready to finally ready to heal.

I relate this only as a message of hope. No matter where you are, what happened to you, or how old you are today is your day. Today and everyday in the future is yours to share with yourself and others. To heal, recover and start to live.

bless your dear grandmother and you for sharing this. i do hope she heals, we are never to young or old to realize what a bunch of crap we have endeared.

anyhow, i am thinking fondly of both of you. my grandmother is still living and i can;t imagine her going throug that. she may have but i am not aware of it. however, noone really knew about me either until a month and a half ago.sure, some suspected, but i faked it, hid it, and the like.
