I too like snow. A couple of weeks ago I went to smoke on my balcony, and all the hills and mountains around the town were snowless. The weather was quiet and it was a cold north wind. Then a wild snowfall began suddenly. I had taken a bath and saw only the white rain outside my window. It stopped after maybe an hour, and ah -- all the space quiet was in the snow: mountains, hills, and forests. Amazing difference.
I used to live up in the mountains of Northern California. We could see Both Mount Shasta and Lasson from our house. One winter the snow got about to be 42 inches deep. The kids went up on the roof with their skis and use the roof for a ski jump. Kind of like Eddie the Egal if you remember him. They would harness up the dog and he would pull them up and down the road in front of our house. We built an igloo in the back yard I could stand up in. The dog lived in there all winter. His water wouldn't freeze and he stayed dry. He would come inside but always wanted to go back out.
The kids are grown and gone and we live down in the vally now. Can still see both those mountains but we have no real winter here. I miss it!
