A phony pedophile pen pal club set up by federal officials led to the arrest of a Lindenhurst man who is being held in federal detention in Manhattan on child pornography charges.
In court papers released yesterday, federal prosecutors charged that Edward J. Posa, 56, of 51 E. Montauk Hwy., engaged in receiving and distributing child pornography, a felony punishable with up to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
Neither he nor his court-appointed attorney could be reached for comment yesterday. In completing an application for the phony club, according to court papers, "Posa indicated that he liked hard-core, professional, homemade and foreign sex films. He also indicated he had a high preference for pre-teen and teenage sexual materials and thought the best age to have your first sexual experience was between the ages of 9 and 15."
Postal Inspector John McDermott, who investigated the case, said that during a search of Posa's apartment, investigators seized video cameras, computer discs and photographs. He said the materials depict the defendant in pornographic poses with pre-teen and teenage boys and girls.
"We think there are quite a number of children involved," McDermott said during an interview Tuesday. He said Suffolk County detectives would investigate leads to the identities of the children.
Posa, a self-employed beer distributor, was arrested Tuesday at his apartment by investigators of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Suffolk County Rackets Bureau.
He is being held pending arraignment tomorrow before a federal magistrate in Brooklyn, said Ann Driscoll, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District.
THATS ONE HERE IS THE OTHER

Investigators of the U. S. Postal Inspection Service and theSuffolk County Rackets Bureau early last night arrested a Lindenhurstman at his apartment on a federal charge of sexually exploiting children. Edward Posa, 56, of 51 E. Montauk Hughway, Lindenhurst, was specifically charged with receiving and distributing child pornography, a felony with a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Postal Inspector John McDermott said Posa, a self-employed beer distributor who operates out of his own home, was held last night in federal detention in Manhattan for arraignment this morning before a U.S. District Court magistrate in Brooklyn.
McDermott said authorities executed a search warrant at Posa's apartment and seized video cameras, computer discs and photographs. He said the materials depict Posa in pornographic poses with pre-teen and teenage children of both sexes.
"We think there are quite a number of children involved," McDermott said. He said authorities had leads to the identities of the children and that Suffolk County detectives would investigate.
McDermott said Posa was arrested after he allegedly corresponded with an undercover postal inspector through a post office box in Levittown.

HES OUT AND READY TO PARTY!!! SICKNING

Craig,

I'm sorry. I don't know what else to say.

I feel the hurt and anger with you, my brother. It isn't much, but I hope you know you're not alone in your anger.

I hate him, too.

Peace and love,

Scot

Hey Craig and Scot, I join you in disgust of that perp! Unfortunately they (system) convicts, warehouses and releases these guys without trying to change them or putting them in a system upon release that will give them help. Left to their own plans, they generally fail AGAIN! I hope and pray that someday the Justice System will realize the hurt, pain and devestation these guys cause for years after the abuse!

I'm sorry too, guys!

Howard

It's sad.

We have a similiar problem with a prize fighter in this town who did 16+ in N.J.
