Everyone,
What's the story about members rating other members???? Could someone tell me what I'm missing here? Seems like some idea for hell...give everyone a number and place them in the pecking order...make someone feel worst about theirselfs or pissed off at everyone...inflate others that just fell off the truck!!!! Let's face it...most here have problems with their minds from SA...PTSD, DID, etc...a bunch of people with "BIG TIME PROBLEMS"...given a little game of judging each other and little faces to have fun with???? Has someone that is still 12 taken control of NOMSV or what??????? And, no one seems to think anything of it!!!! What the *##* is going on here...what did I miss?

Getteddie, thank you so much for the question. I asked it of NOMSVsometime last fall and I got the answer that it had to do with the amount of posts a person posts. That being the case, why the hell does somebody who posts say, 150 not get starts under their name, and then somebody who posts only say, 50 posts get several or five (5) stars? To NOMSV, do the stars relate to the money one contributes? Thank you for your answer. Bosishere :confused: :confused:

I've been fiddling about in the "my profile" thing and I think you can disable it there, that's where I found my Jeep as well, so hurry there before all the cool stuf goes.
I have also noted that the star rating can go up and down daily, something to make us even more paranoid. But what the feck !!!

Hi getteddie. I notified law enforcement years ago about what's going on at survivor sites. And you can bet they're keeping close watch of what's going on. Legally,of course.

I remember back in the 60's hearing about people tuning in, turning on...then droping out..sounded good to me...but most of the US stayed Hard Nerd and loved and believed everything that the goverment told them!!!! 2002...They still do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the stars are able to be changed by the number of votes I make on your behalf. I could vote 20 times for you today if I felt like, and drive your rating up to five stars. You can disable that feature on the profile so no one can see how many "stars" you have. I'd rather stick with the little smilies and thumbs up thumbs down thing, which relates more to the readers rating of the opinions in the post just read. Stars were for kids in school, popularity contests, etc, "ratemyface.com" this is not. I never did well at "being popular" with the peer group. Ever, even now. Don't really care either, didn't care back then. What others think of me is their opinion, to which they are entitled, I have my opinion about them as well, I simply choose not to share my opinions of others as frequently as others choose to share their opinions of me with me. blah blah blah....have a good weekend
 
HI ALL.......GLAD TO SEE SO MANY OF US FEEL THE SAME ABOUT "THE RATING SYSTEM" ! I WONDERED WHY WE COULD RATE EACH OTHER. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RATED, BY MY PEERS, AND I HAVE SHUNED MOST PEOPLE FOR DOING THAT. I THOUGHT WE WERE 'ALL EQUAL'! WHEN I WAS JUST A KID, MY FAMILY WOULD "RATE" OTHERS AND OURSELVES BY THE MONETARY AMOUNT WE WOULD BESTOE ON OTHERS IN THE FORM OF GIFTS!

I COULD NEVER BE APART OF SUCH A THING LIKE THAT AGAIN. I WAS ALWAYS RATED 1%, MAYBE 2%, IN THE FAMILY. ALL THE REST WERE AT LEAST 75%- 80% IN THE RUNNING. ( YOU HAVE TO KNOW A FAMILY LIKE MINE TO KNOW THAT EVERYTHING WAS RATED 100% ).

EACH TIME I WOULD DO SOMETHING, IT WAS 'WRONG'.

WHY SHOULD WE BE RATED? I STILL FEEL THAT I'M WORTH NOTHING! MY ABUSERS THOUGHT THAT WAY TOO, EACH TIME I WAS MOLESTED!
 
I dont like the "rating system" either. If this a place where we are sopose to feel safe and that noone will judge us here.....then why rate?....It's just another way for someone else to have controll over my life. Ratings, cencership......whats next. I though if someone found something that bothered them in a post or a private message we had board monators to deal with that case by case?......and who makes the determation of what is deemed offencive?.....us as member's? or who?...........When we regaster as a member we are told to respece everyone on the board becouse everyone is in a different place in there recovery.....someone may need to say a word that I may not like.....does this mean he needs to be cencerd for it....I DONT THINK SO......and if the rating system is based on the number of votes a person gets......does that make it a rating system or a popalarty contest?.............Im sorry to see nomsv think that this is something they need to do, I dont think that it is.......

I agree totally that the rating system could be just one more way of making us feel inferior, and we've had a lifetime of that thanks very much.
James makes the point yet again, WHO is the judge of the ratings system, what earthly use is it. If we, the users, can't see any practical use for it just what have the administrators got in mind?
They closed the site for a long time ( without warning ? )to make improvements, sorry but I fail to see any. The pictures are a bit of fun, but the rating and the censorship are not.
If it aint broke, don't fix it !

send the board a message...

by boycotting the rating system and not rating any users.....

do not allow your rating to be seen by others....

let's all tell nomsv on the board forum to make this go away....

maybe we are speaking so loudly that nomsv board can't hear what we are saying...
 
No offense, but who cares? I know we are all a little over sensitive here, but what are we, in kindergarten? Nobody here will thin any less of you over some damn stars.

Actually, this system is just probably part of the package they got from updating or changing the board forums programs. I dont think it was intentional at all, they are probably just trying to keep up to date.
 
I thought I didn't care, then I saw I have one star!!!

Holy crap, I guess I will have to 'try harder.' It does feel like grade school; if I don't make any noise at nap time, will I get an extra cookie?

Maybe in a perverse way, this is perfect. A learning skill. We all need to go forward on our own. Being able to do so in the face of judgment by others, it makes us strong. Phhhhhhhhft! bullshit. Ha, this is really hilarious... :eek:

Thanks for taking some action against the rating...maybe it was a trick to bring everyone closer together...the Pdocs play some heavy games but they seem to be helping me get my shit together..it's slow..hope that I can survive the treatment for being a survivor!!!
