I'm not sure what I want to say tonight - only what I feel & I can't describe that.

Last year I came here without hope - I now have it in bucketloads.

If you are new here tonight & trying to find some support, you may have to wait a couple of days, but it will arrive.

It is worth waiting believe me.

Thanks again - best Christmas Day that I can remember since I got my Meccano Set about 39 years ago.

I sort of know what I feel - people are smiling at me & talking to me because I am so much more relaxed. Yesterday after dinner, I got to the point where my relatives were looking at me & thinking 'where are the ear plugs' - I enjoyed that ...last year I said zilch!

My nieces / nephews / god children all loved what I bought them & that made me feel good.

I really had the best christmas day that I can remember... I also knew that it was going to be like this & it happened.

I feel emotional, because I know that I am alive again - you can't put a price on that!

What a happy post. The sadness and sorrow here becomes almost overwhelming. Thank you for reminding us that recovery is possible.
I, too, was more relaxed this year for Christmas. It did help to play things down a little. I just concentrated on others and tried to keep my big, pet elephant...read, psychological self...in the background.
You're posting of this was most reasurring,

thank you for the wonderful, positive sentiments. Yes, there will be times near holidays that this site slows up some, but it is never abandoned.

What is a Meccano set??? ;)

Leosha - a Meccano Set is/was a box full of metal strips / nuts and bolts that you could build things with. They came with an instruction booklet of things that you could build - they also allowed you to use your own imagination to build whatever you could with the pieces available. I can remember building a big wheel (ferris wheel) that actually revolved. I also made cars and all sorts of other things. It was the 'in' toy in those days.
