Selfish can be a GOOD thing when it means taking care of yourself and Any taking care of yourself that you do is a Very Good Thing!
here's an idea that might workout both ways. Normally, if someone does a Paid membership, you could have access to the members only guys boards where Only the guys have access. They do it on a sliding scale usually (just charge according to how much you make) - i don't know, but there might even be a way you can get a sort of scholarship membership so you can have your private areas of the board that you're entitled to- a very healthly self-caring thing. I would feel the same way as you for sure.

I remember it took me a long time to get over thinking selfish was a dirty word because I'd been raised to think self-care was bad. Sometimes I think about how we miss the point about the "golden rule" that I was taught as a child- it was taken from a biblical origin I think- but it's to love your neighbor AS THYSELF- very healthy guidance there that we gotta know how to take care of ourselves before we can care for others well-

Glad you have your sis in on this. I know it is hard, but you did a couragous thing. Were proud of you for taking this HUGE step.

I agree with "An" said, I joined as a member so I could post stuff where my family and the whole world couldn't see and I feel safer doing it there.

The guys are cool, every morning a "good morning" topic is posted by the first guy there and guys add their greeting to each other. It is nice to start your day with this kind of support.

Also there is a survivors story forum (members only) where you could write anything about yourself and or what happened to yourself without the whole world seeing it.

It is kinda cool to have our own space to write stuff in.
