Hi all

I was thinking. Not a thing I usually do  . Can you hear the noise over there. As we are heading toward our 1000th member should we celebrate that 1000 survivors, their friends and family have found this site and are on there way to becoming people again. Or should we be sad, that so many people have had to endure the horrific encounters that have bought us here. Or maybe a bit of both.

I personnaly celebrate what a GREAT bunch of people we have here, whilst wishing we didn't have to be here in the first place.

Any thoughts?

MarkS:

It's tragic so many men have been sexually abused. But it's even more tragic that so many of those men are not getting the support, help & healing they need. It seems like almost every day more & more are doing so by finding Male Survivor. For that I'm very glad!

We all have so much to learn from each other. So much strength to share. That so many of us men have been abused is a tragic reality, in light of which the very existence of our community of Male Survivor is a healing reality.

Thanks MarkS for the thot-provoking post.

I wonder if it woulod be possible to send a mass mailing e-mail to every person who has ever registered. We could celebrate the accomplishments and invite them to check out the place again.

Yep. I think that would be marvellous. We have such a good resourse here. We should celebrate that.

Be good to yourselves guy ;) Mark

Hi all

Just thought as we are only 49 short of that magical 1000th member I would bump up the post. Go on reply I know you want too.

Thanks, but not what I was really hoping for. Someone else must have a view on this topic, or am I really that sad!!

My mum was one of them, so does it count. If I get all my family to join up, we'll be there in no time.

Bob reminded of something that I have been wishing for. It would be nice if we could browse the member's profiles. I usually check the profile of a new member, and I sometimes find things in common from doing that. I gives me something to talk about, and I can send a PM with a little more personal touch than just "Welcome".

I think a mass mailing would be a good way to boot involvement.

Another thought is that we good have a posting of who is having a birthday during the week. That would give us the opportunity to increase interaction between us and maybe increase participation.

Mark--Far as I know it counts Sign em up!

Devon--those are great ideas. Why don't you go to Ask the Board or contact MS admin with these?
