Hi all!

I was not going to share this but I was thinking about EBrook's situation and decided to do so.

In July 2004 my survivor friend said that he wanted no contact for a year. I had a reaction similar to what EBrook described but hnored that request.

When the year was up, I put some loose ends in the mail. This morning I called to let him know the package was coming. I could hear in his voice that he was happy I called. So, I commented on it and the answer was affirmative.

When I had to get off the phone, he asked when we can talk again.

We should never give up on each other. The relationships may change in the process of healing, but we are always each others treasures. :)

Peace to all.

Thank you. I felt good reading this!

And as if to confirm it, I got email last night from the survivor in my life (I don't think I should be calling him my boyfriend right now). He liked the gift I sent him. He's sending me a CD that made him think of me. He's working hard on pulling his career back together.

He's still a long way from being ready to be with me, but I think he's trying. And that counts for a lot.

EBrook,

That's fantastic! I am very glad for you both. And I'd add that you have the right attitude here. And I agree with you 100%: "trying counts for a lot".

Best of everything.
