Going out tonight

Going out tonight
I am very split about going out to a party on Long Island for Opie & Anthony, 2 DJ's who are finally coming back to Radio after being fired for 2 years. Anyway, I'm very nervous if I'll fit in but I think I want to go. I don't know. I'm getting all anxious and I don't know what to do.

Jason

Edited to add that I will be going with a friend but she has been known to go off to talk to someone she knows.

Jason if you think you want to go just do it. If you feel uncomfortable later just bug out. Sounds simple but I know it is not. Only you can decide. Good luck.

Jason,

hey try and be there if you can, obviously you want to be there, it is hard sometimes when you feel this way.

Ask the girl you are going with to be with you, if you can, is she understanding enough to understand your need for her company?

If things don't go so well, you can always make an excuse to leave, but sociallising is one of the ways to address these issues.

I remember so long ago I had the same feelings, I used to call them flight feelings, I hated it, but eventually got over it, or should I say, almost.

I still get the urge to leave sometimes in social gatherings, are there going to be friends there that you know and trust, who you can be with on the night?

We certainly get to know who our friends really are going through this, the one's who accept our quirks and like us for who we are.

Hope you do make it,

ste

I hope you make it there, and let us know what it was like,

2 hours to Long Island one way, and had an anxiety attack..DAMN..

More later...

lets see got a little lost, cell phone was going dead, paid $1.00 a gallon more for gas because I didn't realise the station had full service, and of course the anxiety from seeing people outside, I just couldn't do it. I had to come home.

Jason

Jason,

Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

It's OK that you went home. At least you made the effort, and it will be easier the next time I hope.

You're a good man, remember that. I should have taken the chance I had to meet you at LAX! But I know you pretty well and I know what kind of a guy you are. So go easy on yourself, my friend!

Peace,

Marc

P.S. Full Service? They still have that in the U.S.? Full service here is in a store where they grunt when you say thank you! :D

Jason,

I am sorry that fear got the best of you. BUT, just intending to go out and getting so far as you did was a success. Good luck to you next time, I am sure you will do well.
