Giving out your email or phone number

I am putting this here because if I put it in one of the other forums, it might not be read.

The Board of Directors and the Moderators here will caution you if you are new to not give out any identifiable personal information, such as your email or phone numbers. The reason this warning is placed is because there is no real way of screening out potential predators who may infiltrate to find a victim or exploit the weakness of lonliness or a true survivor.

Please ask people to use your PM until you know them fairly well. They can communicate with you that way in relative safety because if they act in an inappropriate way, you can notify the administrator of the site and the action will be investigated immediately.

This site is not perfect. None can ever be. But the Board and the Mods have set these recommendations for a reason. The Mods are ALWAYS there if you feel uncomfortable about any contact, but can only investigate it fully if it takes place within the confines of MaleSurvivor.

Peace,

Marc

Thanks Marc, what you say is absolutely right.

One of the benefits of MS is that you can come here and remain anonymous, which is a great attraction to many Survivors.

So if you feel you need that anonimity, take care to keep it. There are people out there who take advantage, that's why we're here. So don't make it easy for them to abuse you once again.

Dave

Good words of caution.
