I have never been on this lete at night. I see a lot of "guests" Sign up and join us. This place is saving my life. I beg you, if you are a survivor, join us! I cannot even begin to express what this place is doing for me. Even if you are not sure you were abused, join us, because the fact that you are here indicates that you probably belong.

That is so true. I often wonder how many "lurkers" there are out there in cyberspace.

To those of you who are waiting on the fringes and wondering can you come in here, the answer is yes of course you can. We will all welcome you and no one will judge you. Yes, you will feel nervous, but that's the way it was for all of us. We understand how a new guy feels.

If you are thinking HOW can I muster up whatever it takes to come in here and start talking, well, that's up to you. My own feeling is that we do these things when we are ready.

If you are ready, take the step. You won't regret it.

I almost drowned my keyboard in tears my first day I logged on - and then I had a business meeting I had to go to that night! I was a mess, but a good mess.

Certainly my joing up was unplanned but I'm so glad I did. I have found a source of care, belief and encouragement here like no other.
 
Yes, I couldn't agree more, MaleSurvivor.org is one of the best things that ever happened to me. There is a brotherhood here like nowhere else on earth.

Coming out of the shadows and into the light provides you with community and the strength to find your own voice and tell your own story. You need to do it to heal.
 
I can't agree more. Five years ago I joined MS having gone back, again, to therapy to work on my abuse issues. Being a New Yorker and offering to work on an MS committee, I was invited to join the conference committee that launched the 2001 conference in NYC.
Then I was invited to apply to the Board of Directors and came on as Treasurer. This year I find myself President. A meteoric rise. But it has all helped me personally, which is the point I want to make. Getting involved is a healing step, even just joining.
