Perhaps DeSantis is hoping the pretty different current Supreme Court will alter or overrule the previous precedent. That being said I feel like it's one small step forward against the other laws he's got further to go if his goal is to help prevent further abuse. And hopefully rehabilitation will be a focus at some point eventually.

If there is no attempt at rehabilitation then it's like trying to stamp out roaches. There is always more coming out of the woodwork.
