funny how we get into habits i got up today at my regular time was halfway through getting ready for work before i remembered i dont have a job to go to, seems weird ,but its all for the best i guess now i got time to get help .now i got way too much time to think ,guess i'll think about getting better instead of just thinking about the past. but i know it will creep into my mind anyway .starting over feels like a way of life for me ,i guess change is good cause i cant just stay the same or i'll be feeling sorry for myself for ever.

Hey Adam. I haven't been around too much. Got some other things going on that need my attention but I have been following things here. I want to welcome you to a new beginning. You get to kind of start over in a way. We will never forget our past. It's part of who we are but we can always start over, follow a new path. When I read what you write I am always so proud of you and the progress you are making. I am glad you are going to get that help. You have a life worth saving and a life worth living. Just know I think of you and winter is coming so be sure to keep your head warm! Wouldn't want you to catch cold.

Adam,

guess i'll think about getting better instead of just thinking about the past.
Bingo! That's exactly what you should do bro. Do you understand why?

Look at your past and all the terrible things that happened? Which of those things can you grab back now and change? NONE of them. You can try to understand and see how these events have affected you, but that's something else, isn't it?

What does it mean to say I want to recover? It means I want to find ways I can keep the old memories and feelings from harming me anymore. It means I want to look at myself as I am HERE AND NOW to see how I can set aside all the false lessons I learned as an abused boy. It means I want to understand that now, as an adult, I don't need the boyhood coping methods I resorted to years ago. It means understanding I don't have to be afraid anymore. It means understanding that I am valuable, lovable and important, and not the worthless loser that abuse falsely taught me I was.

These are powerful messages as you head into your own special recovery tasks Adam. Just remember that the world is full of good things that are there waiting for you when you return.

Much love,
Larry

Adam,

In rehab from my accdient, a physical therapist gave me some great advice. She told me to no matter what, do something fun each day. I found it to be some of the best advice I ahve heard along the way.

Be well buddy.

Its no good having a job and not being able to go forward, your well being is worth more than money.

Steve said find time to do something you like and it is sound advice, so good luck on your new beginning, or rather, your realisation of your true worth,
