Finally some good news

Finally some good news

After my venting the other night, I have some good (really good!!) news that I thought I would share.

Without me knowing, "John" made an appt with his dr to discuss his life insurance testing results for today. Last night, he told me that he was going today, and that he was going to talk to him about his SA and where to go etc. You can't imagine my happiness that he finally was going to go see somebody. My compassion batteries are now in overdrive.... I was just thrilled to hear that he finally was going to make a move. I thought he was going to have a heart attack last night though, he was so so so stressed about talking to the Dr.

Well he just got back a short while ago, and said that he had a good cry, that his Dr was great and very supportive/understanding etc etc, and that he had about 8 other men in his practice that he was dealing with on the same issue. I am just so happy right now I could cry. John came home visibly shaking - I know that it would have been really really hard to get that out, but I finally feel like things might move forward now.

I know the road to recovery will not be an easy one, but at least now I feel like we are on a road, and not stuck at a dead end.

Thank you everybody.

Major,

That's wonderful news! Thanks for sharing and I hope "John" visits MS.

Major,

That's wonderful news. He took a huge step, as you could tell from his reaction. This may have been the hardest, but none of them are easy it is far from the last. Keep up your strength my friend. You'll need it, but I believe it's worth it.

ROCK ON........Trish

Going to get help is hard to do so that is a
huge step:) I know how hard it is to cope with seeing your husband in pain. It hurts you as well. Just make sure you also take some time for yourself as well. You both need support, I've learned that! Good days and bad days will happen, but either way you just have to hang in there and realize in the end your life will be what you make it.{{hugs}}

Major,

Those breakthroughs are great and you have every right to celebrate them. It is SO difficult to get started, and I am so happy for the both of you.

Much love,
Larry
