After a fight of almost 4. years I finaly got the VA.to admit that I was raped while I was in the army in 1977 ( that almost took an act of congress ) ther agread that this has caused ne to have PTSD and it is service conected .
But they want to say that it is only ocasinal . I sent in an apeal and told then that this effects me on a dayly basis in the way that i look at the world and the way that I live my life

Michael,

The VA is of course thinking of what the cost will be for all this, should your case be confirmed.

But I would imagine it ought to be possible to show that PTSD is a huge problem for many survivors and can continue for years after the abuse.

Michael Good hard work on your part. Sometimes it almost takes an act of Congress to get the right thing done. I wonder how many guys have been raped in the past and tried to get help but ran into the stone wall like you did.

Maybe you are starting a whole new era in the history of the VA. hope they are begining to understand the long term harm done to rape victims.

Veterans Administration -- government organization that is supposed to look after veterans.
