SURVIVORS,...would you men, please address the issues of Flashbacks & Panic Attacks.

As a Partner...I can see fear overcome my BF, he runs, shuts off cell phone,to be certain no one can contact him. Recently macking it difficult for work to contact him ,unless on his terms, he will phone in to work. His customers are becoming less than impressed that this over-achiever work-a-holic,man, whom they hire to work for them...is putting up walls, and at times just ignoring them. I want you to know it has been only the last month that he has verbalized to me about the SA,(mother-son incest). I told him, earlier this week, he is showing hallmark signs of depression,& please see his doctor. He said depression is the last thing he will never have, he has a great life, with so much to be happy about.(this said as he refuses to communicate with clients...this man puts not much before his career). This week I point blank asked him if he realizes what his mom did, was sexual abuse,(the first time those words had been said aloud, he has described the actions etc., but never did he use those words to identify the behaviour). In response he nodded his head, agreeing, saying out loud yes he is aware, it was abuse. That painful look in his eyes, while keeping complete eye contact with me,is haunting. Of course as I could have predicted...the snipper attacks have restarted...whenever we get close,he must put distance.

Any Survivor identify with his behaviour ? ?

Regards
Niagara :)

Hi Niagra:
Sorry to post this here but without a way of contacting you, (you don't have private message status) we need to let you know that the Male Survivor forums are for male survivors only. While it is ok to read what is there, some men have asked that family and friends use that forum and not post in the survivor forums.
