I actually remember the news when this little boy disappeared. A lot of things changed here in the US because of it. I think there was a greater awareness of child predators, and the photos on the milk cartons began as well. How horrible that a boy cannot walk to school without something as dreadful as this occurring. The perfidy of people never ceases to amaze me.

yeah - i can remember walking to and from school without fear - until i later was warned about the dangers of "strangers" - about the time the worst of the abuse was happening to me. of course it was too late by this time. and it wasn't strangers i needed to fear - but the step-dad in my own home and the bullies in my locker room and scout troop. no place was safe.

I wrote this for/about Etan some years ago.

I'm purposely ignoring the trial, as I know it will send me into a dimension of pissed-off never before seen in my county.
