Hi guys!!
I wanted to post yes2day when i got back, but something came up.
On the weekend It was the Donnington Rock Festival. and what a weekend it was!!
It all started Friday, when i got home from work at 4am, and half assed packed my bag, forgetting everything!! (well nearly)! Walking down to the station to chatch the 5am Train to London. As the train was going along, their was a HALF elcips of the sun, which was very amazing!! I reached london Kings Cross just before 5.50am. (it was the slow train) And took the short walk across the road to the main line train station (St Pancress).
I was on my tod cause my mate that was going to come with me pulled out at the last minute.
After purchasing my ticket and waiting on the station with a bunch of other Grungers/Gofs/Rockers&Metalers. Which for me was kool. I knew i wasnt alone. I was with other people who enjoy load music. I boarded the train and took my seat. There was a guy across the table from me, and 2 others guys on the table next to me. For some reason we all hit it off, and started talking to each other. It was magical. We where all there for the same reasons, and we all shared so much in common, Music (of cause), Movies, points of veiw, protection, "Moshers Vs Towies - Tuff wars" etc... We talked for the whole 2hr journy up to Donnintione even sharing a cab to the park. Way Kool.
Got there and extanged numbers and arranged to meet up later. By now it was 0830hrs and It had been 24hrs sinces i had woke up friday morning. I wondered around the camp site looking for some where to pitch up for the weekend. As it happens I found a good stop, and started to set up my tent next to a group of 6 guys. They noticed that i was on my tod and invited me to turn my tent around to face in with them. So we did that, and intoduced my self. They where realy good people. We all hung out by the tent untill about 10:00hrs-ish smoking a few joints and drinking a few beers. Then headed over to the arean where the bands where playing.
On saturday I saw:
3 COLOURS RED
SIKTH
SOIL
HIM
MURDERDOLLS
INME
MINISTRY
MARILYN MANSON
And for the Main event...
IRON MAIDEN!! IRON MAIDEN!! IRON MAIDEN!!!
Who played a brillent 3hr set. It was only ment to be a 2hr set, but they said fuck the curfue and played on!! and did 3 encores!! Was so happy!! Had my T-shirt Ripped while Moshing in the pit, but I didnt care.
After they finished and every when back to the tents, Had a few more drinks and then a lot more drinks and talked with loads of other random people there!! Till the wee hrs of the morning (bout 4am-ish) B4 deciding it be a good idea to get some sleep!! That was 44hrs with out sleep!! And i only sleeped for 4hrs and was back up at 8am!! For more Carage and moshing!!
But first I needed to get some cash so did the lads I camped with so they offered to drive to the sevrice station, We got there and NO MONEY!! We drove round Donninton town for about 2hrs and each time we found a cash point, it had NO MONEY!! NO MONEY!! in the end we found one at the airport by Check-in! We then went back to the park and to the camp site where we had a few drinks and a bit of food!
On sunday I saw:
SPINESHANK
MUDVAYNE
EVANESCENCE
As we where waiting for the next band to come on, we heard a that "Meticallica" Had just gate crashed the Suzzy stage and had stated to play a set!! SO we RAN as fast as we could. FUCKING ALSUM!! Meticallica!! Meticallica!! Where Playing!! Sorry but... Meticallica!! After they finished and played one encore! They left!!
And we went back to the main stage. Where STONE SOUR was half way through their set, which was very sweet!
Then DISTURBED came on!! now these are on of my favourt bands DISTURBED!! DISTURBED!! DISTURBED!! So i had a Brillent mosh to them, for a hr, then when they left i needed to get a beer!! The rest of the line up that day went:

NOFX - (Another one of my fav bands!!)
It was as is the best weekend of my life so far!! I cant think of one other point in time where i could say i was complet! Went back to the tents where we drank more, smoked more, and drank more. Then we had a fire, which we got chased by sercity for as a tent where the fire was went up and then the other people around it decieded to feed the fire with more tents!! At about 2am we went to the Fun-Fair. Then came back and drank more and had a mud fight!! At about 6am went to bed but only for a 2hr! then got up packed the tent up. Said goodbye to my new friends and started on the 4hr journy back. I Managed to get a cab with 2 lovey Gungry Girls. And on the train we sat in 1st Class!! 1st Class. US!! Arr it was amazing and we got away with it!! We must of looked so out of place!! (Tatoos, Pircings, Spikes, Skulls) But it was grate, after spend nites in a feild at a music festivel it was kool. When i finaly got back to uni, No time to sleep had to run as i was late for a group presentation! But git there in time - just as the guy was running late with the presentations!! Few!!
Core thats a long on. Just wanted to tell you guys! And share my happyness! Music is the sole of life. And with out it we are nothing. The whole world revoles around music! What we wear, what we do. How we relax, how we remember! And HOW we Forget!! Just for a short time! For that short time be free, free from the chains, The pain, the past, and regain that lost-ed childhood!

I'm just too old for the festivals now, but it seems nothings changed since the Reading festivals in '71 & '72.
