You know, I was just thinking yesterday, and as someone whose beliefs don't 100% line up with Catholicism (it's mostly the origins of Jesus--bit too legend-y for me) but was fully inducted as a Catholic, I really liked where Pope Francis was going when he first started. He seemed like he was taking the Church on a new, exciting, better road of acceptance, humility, all that.

He was all "who am I to come between queer people and God?" and all that.

Then a bit under a year on, he suddenly and abruptly reversed courses, and started acting like Pope "Condoms Cause AIDS" John Paul II (You familiar with his preachings in Kenya?)and basically everyone else before him.

Gotta say, disappointed? Yes. Suprised? No.
