I was raped almost 30 years ago , and kept this secret until 2000. It seems that when I did try to get help that people looked at me as if I was some how the cause of the problem .
I have had almost six years of councling . All that they seem to want to do is throw meds at me
and tell me that things will get better with time . Well after 30 years I am still mad as hell . Because The system is disigned to protect the Sick Bastards that that do thease things .
I have Tried for several years to find the SOB that did this. I was told that I can not have him arrested even if I find Him .Because of the amount of time that has passed .
But if I were to find Him I would enjoy puting a few knots on his head . Even if I had to do some jail time . it would be some small form of justice .

Who said that? Me, I went through the system (as have many others here) and found it lacking in many areas.

I would certainly agree that a LOT of progress is needed in this area. It is not just the general public, but also the judiciary, who fail to understand the devastating consequences of CSA.

Rik's recent case, where the convicted perp was called an "elderly gentleman", his crimes were called "indiscretions", and his punishment was a suspended sentence, gives ample proof of this.

Ste and I were discussing this the other evening and he confirmed my suspicion that a lot of the failure is due to sentencing guidelines influenced by the fact that prisons are filling up too quickly. The logic behind that one is just staggering!

I had a personal response from The Honourary Judical Recorder for County Durham! He claimed that governments may try to influence judges, but that they are an independant body, and they will sentence within the realms that they are able!

I have sent an additional letter to the trial judge, to see what his response is if any!

Very shortly, I must write to The Attorney General (28 days to appeal & I'm not loosing out, because all of the professional bodies cannot react within the given time frame).

If I do not challenge this crap, then I will never have peace of mind!!!! I do not care if the judiciary/government loose sleep over this issue - I have lost sleep and peace of mind since 1969. If those people in a responsible position within society cannot protect the children of today, then **** them!

I am personally starting to feel like a boil that needs to burst...if it's not medicated by the government/judiciary, then maybe they just need to be covered in puss!

I think you are right. You do have to challenge this injustice with all possible means.

Larry - it very much appeared to be a personal letter, although realistically it could have been written by a knowledgable assistant of The Honorary Judicial Recorder.

I only say that, because, the envelope was hand written in what appears to be a light shade of blue, waterman ink. The letter was also signed with a similar ink (if not the same), it's a little bit difficult to tell, unless I use a microscope. The envelope was made from white paper, and the letter was printed on paper with a very pale yellow hue!

The writing style used for the address on the envelope, appears to be the same as that used for the Honorary Judicial Recorder's signature, however ...the only letter from 26 in the alphabet that can be used as a real comparison is 'l'. Most letters are poorly formed on the signature, but very clear on the address (a bit like my own method of writing...make sure it gets to where it is meant to go)!

The tone of the letter is 'very nice', but non committal!

I think that everyone is really just hoping I will go away!

I'M NOT SORRY AT ALL, BUT IF ANYONE FROM THE JUDICIARY, CPS OR WHATEVER IS ACTUALLY READING THIS POST...I AM NOT GOING AWAY....I AM NOT GOING TO SHUT UP UNTIL I RECEIVE REAL JUSTICE...I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR POLITICALLY CORRECT METHODS OF OF MAKING OUT THAT THE VICTIM/SURVIVOR WAS THE ONE AT FAULT. I think society gets a wierd feeling in their stomach when male sexual abuse is brought up and like a taboo topic they just do not want to hear about it, thus they don't want to help do anything about it either.
