He crossed the line during exams, sexualizing them. It was wrong. But I realized I enjoyed the sexual contact with another male, though it was inappropriate for a doctor to touch me in that way. Legally and ethically he abused me, though I was an adult and returned time and again to his examining room, knowing what would happen.

Hi MD,

...and congrats on your first posting! Could I make a suggestion? Try writing your post again and drop certain words (put in parentheses), then read it. Here goes:

"He crossed the line during exams, sexualizing them. It was wrong. (But) I realized I enjoyed the sexual contact with another male, though it was inappropriate for a doctor to touch me in that way. Legally and ethically he abused me (,). (though) I was an adult and returned time and again to his examining room, knowing what would happen".

The first four sentences state facts and there's no confusion about them. The last sentence shows the effects of the doctor's role in the first four sentences. When someone is molested, at whatever age, it is often the case that the survivor returns. And that is no more crazy than a moth flying into a zapper. Both are drawn into danger, like being in a trance, by forces that defy reason.

The truth is, if he hadn't been inappropriate with you, you would have still had same sex feelings somewhere within your self but you would have had the chance to explore those feelings in a non deceptive, mutual way with another equally curious man. Now you're in this situation and he's the one who turned on the blue light!!

Go easy on yourself MD. You're a courageous man just for being here and writing. You'll find wonderful support here. Welcome.

Taz
