Different help for all of us

Different help for all of us
Joey:

Wow do I relate to your story!

Joey, I grew up in FL, Tampa Bay Area. Lived & helped in a homeless shelter for a couple months in order not to be on the streets. Even spent a few nights at the YMCA. Since then I've enjoyed volunteering at different homeless shelters when I've had the chance.

Joey I pray you and your wife will be able to find
good affordable housing soon. Also find whatever work you need.

Oh yeah, I like to play chess too.

The guy that taught me went high up in a FL state tournament when I was a kid.

Unfortunately he was also one of my perps.

Still like chess don't get much chance to play tho
Not many people around who do.

Who knows maybe we'll face off sometime...

Victor

Joey, what courage you have, to not have yourself but to give of yourself. You will make it just like all of us will if we help one another just as you are helping those that need. Thanks for your courage, your efforts will be rewarded.

Joey,

Your humble determination is an inspiration and your acts of kindness toward the homeless at the shelter are making a difference that you may never know. I keep you in my prayers this day. Hang onto that wonderful wife--you two together ARE making it, and making the world a better place in the process

Blessings,
Ron

Victor,

Thank you for your presence and for sharing your history. The more I read, the more I realize that there ARE others who know this suffering, and that makes me feel better somehow. In fact, it is changing me and my usual perceptual response to the outside world.

What kind of music do you compose?
I pretty much write in all genre's, from vocal composition in contemporary folk style for my own personal enjoyment. I also write "church" music since that is my profession, and I write post tonal type instrumental music for instruments. I play piano, organ, guitar and flute and kazoo pretty well. ;) What kind of music do you enjoy?

what's an Eclectus Parrot BTW?
The eclectus is a breed of parrot that comes from Australia, West Indies and Solomon Islands. The males are all green with red under the wings, and the females are dark red with a purple chest.

" Your terrier--is he by chance named after Howlin Mad Murdoch of "The A Team?!"

love that emo :)
Murdoch is just a name that I liked. Someone else asked me if he was named after a character on MASH? I just liked the name. He is one of two dogs from the same litter that were pets of mine until I moved to a studio in downtown and had to scale down; it was hard, but I gave his brother Cooper to a great family. They are actually rat terriers, but folks often mistake Murdoch for a Jack Russel. I am not sure why since he has very fawn like stature.

It is good to try to keep positive as much as we can with one anothers' support.
That's coming through loud and clear from you and all the moderators. I am so grateful that I finally found some brothers who mirror unconditional love that I have needed for so long. I simply don't know how to react at being hugged so authentically. All I can do is raise my eyes and quietly say "thanks"

Take care,

Ron

;)

Mike,

Thanks for the comments. Also thanks for waving your magic wand and having a pck of wolves appear. They have found a nice permanent den on my desktop, and they look sooooo good there.

AAAAAEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOWWWWWW

..or sumpin' like that

That is the power of this wolf pack, Ron! We do have the power to change ourselves, our views of the world, and change our world!

What kind of music do you enjoy?
Ron I'm partial to a variety of the classic R&R oldies, especially the 70's also the 60's, including some of the "folk rock" & just plain folk music.

But I can enjoy some of just about any kind of music, including jazz, R&B and even classical, tho I usually prefer those instrumental.

As to "church" music I'm glad you're writing it!
Often the older tunes are too unsingable (especially for men!) and the newer ones too shallow--just like the lyrics actually! Do you write lyrics too?

Anyway having said that there is a lot of
"church" or "Christian" music that I do like, from classic hymns to contemporary.

BTW I also love good flute playing!

Used to love going to see all the cool parrots down at Busch Gardens in Tampa when I was a kid. That's when you could still get in free (yes I'm old!); they didn't have all the rides & stuff. Anyway your Eclectus Parrot sounds cool! Does he/she(?) talk? Always been intrigued with the idea of having a talking parrot.

Ron, I really enjoy dogs--other people's dogs, as I'm unfortunately allergic (to feathers too actually  ). Hey Murdoch sounds cool too! But I'll still think of "The A Team" when I think of him!

Ron we're grateful you are here too. We all need this unconditional love and this is one good place
to at least start finding it. Definitely I am very grateful. Thanks for sharing. TC & TTYL. :)

This is turning into an amazing thread guys. the talents that are out there literally bowl me over.

Se I am a guy who likes any good music but I cannot sing or play an instrument. I have been asked on occasion not to sing because I alone can put a whole bunch out of tune and synch. As for learning to play . Well because of my ADHD I was always to impatient.

Keep the posts coming guys.

To all of you so far I say

AAAAAAAAAWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOGGGUUUYYYSSS

I started a new topic in the Surviors and Religion folder and enlosed the text to a hymn that I wrote recently for the 150th anniversary of the church I work for. Oddly, it makes more sense now than ever since being here.

Thanks for the unintended suggestion :)

Ron [in the case, mike, Con_ Logos ;) .....]
