There was a piece on National Public Radio today about childhood memories and how individuals often remember the same event differently. Two adult sisters who were sexually abused found that their memories of their childhood were often very different from each other. One remembered the whole event in great detail and the other remembered mostly details that were tangental to the abuse. I was unable to catch the whole thing bit it was most interesting.

This is interesting. My sister and I have some different memories of some events or periods. I've had her describe things she said she witnessed or heard and I don't remember them or remember only snippets. Of course, the memories from when we were quite young are the most incoherent for the most part. She's been quite open about sharing her memories with me and that is helpful. Of course, our mother disputes most of our recollections.
