Depression=unexpressed anger
Men:
One of us on this board made a comment that I heard before, that depression is really anger that has not been expressed or felt. Anger that has been swallowed for so long and not let out.
I have been diagnosed with both mdd-major depressive disorder, and dysthmia-chronic low level depression. I am one of those people who didn't express any anger for the first 30 years of my life. Today at 39 I am starting to feel anger and it can feel overwhelming. But, I am glad to feel it and not sink into depression.
I hope this helps one of you. Like another man said, we must learn healthy ways to express the anger, ways that are not hurtful/abusive to ourselves or anyone else. God bless us. Sincerely
rafael
