criminal injuries compensation fund - Canada

Any Canadians out there know anything about the criminal injuries compensation fund? My T told me that my BF may be eligible for some compensation (possibly free therapy at the very least) through this fund. HE would have to have some kind of documentation that criminal abuse has happened - I dont know if therapists records are adequate or if he has to wait until his case against his perp. goes ahead.

If anyone has any info. please let me know. If there are any Canadian survivors or family/friends of survivors and you have not heard about this fund, you may wish to find out more. Suggest talking to a therapist, social worker, etc.
