As I write this media, outlets from around the world await the arrival of the King of Pop for his arraignment on child molestation charges. Along with the media is a throng of Jackson supporters holding signs, screaming into bullhorns, showing their support for a man who is, once again, being accused of the most horrendous of crimes against a child. A man who, despite the uproar, remains adamant that it is okay for adults to sleep with young children. Despite my better judgement, I am enthralled by the circus-like scene. And as I watch it occurs to me that little, if anything, is being said about the victim. It further occurs to me that Mr. Jackson and his very savvy army of attorneys are continuing the abuse on that boy. The presence of all the supporters of an alleged pedophile. The abuser is using his power and money to intimidate his victim, again, still. While it is happening on a scale most of us (probably none of us) ever experienced, it is, strangely, EXACTLY the same thing we all experienced. It all seems so calculated. Reports are that Jackson himself paid for the 'Caravan of Love' that brought the supporters to the courthouse. I certainly hope that the boy is not aware of these antics because at his age, in his emotionally and physically vulnerable state (he suffers from cancer), he may very well be inclined to back down and refuse to testify against his (alleged) abuser out of sheer terror. It makes me feel ill.

And, if there are other victims, seeing what is going on, are they going to come forward?

Intimidating not only the victim that came forward but any others as well and perhaps the victims of other abusers who are still children, maybe even adult survivors.

And his "supporters" are complicit in that no matter whether Jackson is technically guilty or not.

I'm going to refrain from ranting on this subject because every time I do, I have a near coronary.

Suffice it to say, this world is sick, twisted, and morbidly fascinated with child exploitation. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I belong to the human race. All we can do is keep working on exposing abusers and try to show people how the abuse affects children on a profound level. That's all that is in our power to do, unfortunately.

You see my view on this situation is. One of two things happend. 1. people took a man who is a caring person and tryed to use that against him and say his love is in a sexual light. or he is just a sicko that got to the top and is so horrible for puting on the act that he does. If the second is true I say stop spending money on that POS and get a 9mm bullet and use it. its a .35 cent solution. Even though his kind *if thats what he is* arnt worth the fraction of a cent that the bullets brass is worth.

I've just watched the sick circus on the TV news, they dis just manage to sneak in a mention that there was a child victim involved.

I think it's going to be a 'news' free zone in this house for a while.

Like the rest of you this one really @@@@@@ me off. I do have an opinion of whether he is guilty or not ( and I think I share it with you). What astounds me is that the latest album actually went in at number 1 over here in England - 'innocent until proven guilty & all that' with this case at such a high profile. If he is found to be guilty I expect that everyone that bought the album burns it (although I doubt it). *You don't hear much of Garry Glitter (British pop star who once had a few hits in the 70's) these days except that he's perving in Columbia.

Now you've got me going! What I don't understand is the way that Prosecution and Defence can create a media circus like this - in England they would be classed as prejudicing the trial and would be stopped (possibly jailed / fined). I would hate to think that a guilty person got off because the media circus prevented a 'fair trial'.

The issue of whether he was an abuser was raised in my company prior to these latest revelations -one person suggested that it was just the media blowing things up (he knew my history but momentarily forgot - others there did not know of my history). One look as a reprimand - returned look of apology, not a word spoken and no one else any the wiser!

I've thought further about this subject, hard not to since it is all over the news. And I'm happy to see that Mr. Jackson's behavior is widely being condemned.
One would think that if Mr. Jackson was truly innocent and if he indeed cared for and loved that boy, he would be acting in a much more humble manner. If he cared about the boy he would be concerned for the boy's well being. He would acknowledge that the boy is suffering regardless of whether or not the allegations are true. He would realize that, assuming the allegations are false, the boy is being manipulated by those around him, thereby being abused in a very different way. He would not be celebrating moments after being arraigned on child abuse charges. This makes it very clear to me that he and his legal team are attempting to manipulate the public and the boy into thinking that he is innocent. And it's backfiring on him. Maybe we'll see justice done in this case, unlike in mine and so many others who need to be here. Maybe this should be moved to the Off Topic forum, but I see it as a very typical response from an abuser who wants to silence his victim.....which really is 'On Topic'.

The reactions of the people is heart-breaking to me. They have condemned the child and his parent/s and the prosecutor for letting the case go on---has anyone asked how they have the facts to so clearly call the boy a liar and the prosecutor without ample intelligence to tie his shoes?

The case is no longer stated as this boy vs MJ It is now:The State of California versus Michael Jackson. This is a criminal situation, not a civil opportunity for someone other than MJ to make money.

One thing I will say again though is this: I certainly hope that the DA has such overwhelmingly clear evidence, i.e. videos etc that there can't be the slightest hint of a wrongful accusation. If the DA messes this up, sexual victimization of boys will be set back years.

Somedays, it is difficult to have hope. But we can never give up hope that the day will come when all the people will understand that CSA harms boys every bit as much as it does girls.

I'm back again - the only way that I can look at it is like this:

If someone known to you systematically slept with children of one sex and of a similar age in their beds what would you be thinking they were up to?

I'm runnning out of words on this one - even if he does turn out to be innocent, would you have let your kids sleep over with him after the events of 10 years ago?

What the hell were all of those parents thinking of? $ $ ?????

And again... I think what is really gripping me is that this poor kid is the age now that I was when I was abused. We have at least one shared reference point.

If Jackson is convicted, then this poor kid has not only had to deal with a physical cancer invading his body, he will also have dealt with one of the biggest cancers known to society.... an 'Adult' Paedophile that can create as much suffering as a biological cancer.
