I am a straight male. I was at a friends house chillin and we were drinking. He had said some comments that could have been hitting on me but I chose not to acknowlege them that way. I have been drinking for a while and it never had the effect on me that it did this time. I woke up the next morning and I had no almost no memory of the night before and my asshole was hurting really bad. I dont know if I was taken advantage of or what. Is there something that I could have been slipped that is a over the counter drug? I know this guy and he isnt the type that would buy drugs. Please someone get back to me so I can have some sort of clarity.

There are drugs which can be bought on the street which could have the effect you are talking about. They are often referred to as 'date rape' drugs, 'roofies' and several other names. But, you said that your friend wasn't the type to buy street drugs ... so perhaps you just drank too much. Alcohol is not consistent in its effect on a person. One time you can drink 4 or 5 beers and not get too much of a buzz and the next time you can be totally zoned. The fact that you thought your friend was hitting on you and you continued to drink, and then you don't remember what happened makes this a very difficult situation to figure out. I would suggest that you don't go getting drunk with this guy again if you have any doubts. Peace, Andrew

I had a two Smirnoff Ice and I know I wasnt drunk so I should be able to remember everything. I was told by someone that Visene had that effect but I am not sure or if it was something like that.

Hi Columbus:

Please consider contacting your local hospital or emergency, espeically their service for recent sexual assault victims. You may have been anally raped, and if so, you need to consider a variety of health risks associated with this violence. Many of these risks need to be attended to in an urgent matter, so don't delay.

I am suggesting a hospital service, as many of the rape crisis centres focus on women victims only, thus you may not receive the information and support you require.

if you wish to access more inbformation regarding men and recent sexual assault, please go to my agency's website www.themensproject.ca as we have a downloadable brochure written specifically for men who have experienced recent sexual assault.

Be gentle with yourself, and also take the steps you need to to ensure both your physical health and your emotional well being. In many such hosptial services, they can patch you up with a therapist, which would be a good resource for you to process what went on.

all the best,

rick

Can you recall your clothes being on any different the next morning and could you remember any smells that seemed out of place?

Just trying to help you figure out... I agree with Rick... Get checked out. I know it's embarrassing to a large degree but you should make sure hospitals are pretty private.

As Rick say, the first consideration is your health. Get this checked out as fast as possible and don't be embarrassed about it. This is their job and you are not the first or last with this question.

The attending staff may also be able to help you confirm whether or not you were penetrated.

Good luck - you reall should deal with this ASAP.
