This is a quality that we all have and we generally give in generously without being asked to. Wonderful things happen when we give it freely. We have all seen what it does here and elsewhere in our lives.

There is someone that we do not give it to very much and that person is here when we are at all times. That person is ourselves. Why is it that we can show compassion to others but not ourselves? I can tell you why!! Because most of us feel we do not deserve it because of the SA and/or physical abuse. And we feel this way because those perverted people who did what they did to us made us believe the damned lie.

God knows none of us are perfect and we must keep this in mind when our actions seem out of sync. Acting out, drinking, rejecting those who love us, etc, etc, etc, First we must accept that we are human and do make mistakes and second we must have compassion for the person who is struggling. It is like we are trying to dust ourselves off and keep working towards living life as we were meant to.

So all my fellow MS'ers lets make a promise to ourselves to show the same compassion inwards as we do to each other.

I want to wish each and everyone here a very happy summer. Or as YOUNG ANDREI put it. Lets choose to be happy. The choice for compassion and happiness is ours to have.

You're so right. It's easier to give help, love, and compassion than it is to receive it. Receiving it is scary. Giving it is safe.

Good advice. If we're able to give as much help, love, and compassion to ourselves, we'll feel safe enough to allow others to do the same, huh?

Receiving it IS scary, even if it from ourself to ourself. It is like, there is the 'ok, what does he/she want from me for this' factor to it.

But I agree, compassion is something we share so readily, so openly, so seemingly easily with each other. Truly, we do deserve the same.
