I know that it's nearly a year since I first posted (new year 2003/4).

I could throw in the whole dictionary for what I have felt/experienced since then (maybe I will on New Years Eve).

Some of you may have read my posts earlier in the year (2 steps forward, one step back - or something similar) where I went out into the countryside and visited the places where I was abused (visited throughout the seasons of the year).

I want to go back there right at the start of 2005 (midnight) and tread new footsteps into virgin snow...this would be just so significant to me...what are the chances?

Either way...I feel warm again.

LOVE, HOPE and RESPECT to you all...Rik

Rik,

Here's to new snow for you...hip, hip

David

That does it. Now we have a serious problem. Moderators, delete all reference to snow. This is truly offensive. There is a drift in my driveway which is taller than my barn. If I can dig out by the new year, I might survive. Enough already. Maybe in England they dont have all the snow they want. The English are welcome to come get mine. Please! If it would help Id pack it up in little boxes and send it to them. Just today I tread new footprints in the snow and got a cold wet jockstrap.

I understand the thought of virgin snow as a new beginning, freedom, beauty and release. As a child I always wanted to be the first to make tracks and leave a mark on perfection and purity.
But then I spent several winters in Southern California and realized that it is even more fun to make tracks in the warm sand. A little game of beach volleyball beats digging the car out of a frozen tundra, every time.

Have a wonderful New Year. I really, honestly hope YOU get the snow.

Aden - thanks for that...you gave me a real laugh when I wasn't expecting one. The snow is so poor here, that the shops don't even have any sledges this year (that is probably a good indication that I will get my wish).

Best wishes everyone..Rik

Rik, it snowed on Christmas day where I lived, so I just had to go out in it, felt like a kid again in all that white stuff, footprints in the snow is magic.

I told some kids that father Christmas will make it snow, and it did.

I hope you get your wish, we dont get anywhere near the snows that I remember as a kid, but you may get your wish,

Peace,

ste

I'm dancing the snow dance as I type!

And aren't you up North in Newcastle?

If it snows you might have to put on a thicker T shirt!

Dave :D

Dave - if it snows, we just start wearing socks & T-shirts with sleeves in. To keep warm, we just leave the ice cubes out of our beer.

Have a great New year everyone...Rik

Rik,

add me to the list who could (and would) send you snow!

But if you find any, remember: Don't eat the yellow snow! (Thanks Frank! ;) )
