Chat Room Inaccessable?

I cannot get into the Chat Room. I haven't been able to for a couple of days actually. Has it been disabled, or were the peramaters (sp?) simply changed and I can't get on anymore because I chat on a public modem?

I've tried today. The password text input clears when I click Login, but I don't get any other interface.

The Java console shows file system problems, with exceptions from syncWorld and checkLockFile0ErrorCode methods. I can't find either of those methods in my O'Reilly Java in a Nutshell book. The syncWorld call sounds like something in the chat applet, but I don' t know the util.prefs stuff.

I read the pages from the Help, and didn't see anything that described this.

Just wondering, do I need to register separately for the chat?

You must register separately for the discussion board and the chat room.
 
Thanks, I registered and the applet fired up without a problem this morning. I'll be chatting now!

(Read the FAQ. Hmm..., what a novel idea! :D )
