Everyone,
I have decided to change my name...To Eddie... because of a sugguestion from another member that made a lot of sense. Getteddie is a name that is being creul to myself...triggering memiors of the abuse..plus no one will ever get me again. I don't really feel that bad about it anymore...wasn't my fault..just a hard part of my life...and I don't want to live it forever!!!

Names are how we see the world, and what we call ourselves (and others) can tell you so much.

You know, back before I started recovery, I never like my own real name at all . . . it turned out that was because I never really liked me at all.

Again, Super Eddie! New name, New perspective, New life.
 
I actually thought about changing my real name (last name) for a long time, but haven't done it because I don't know what I would change it to. My dad always made such a big deal out of our last name and he disgraced it so bad, I don't want a thing to do with it. Still haven't given up on a real name change either. I was thinking of Mickey Mouse, but that is already taken.
