a fellow survivor recenlty summoned the courage to write a letter to his local bishop about being molested by a head priest in their church twenty years ago. The Feds then called to corroborate, and yesterday he was arrested while vacationing in Ireland. If you really want to get your ire up, as it were, read the article in the paper regarding this matter, and see how he's defended by his parishioners. Now imagine if the charge was raping a woman instead of molestation of a male, and read again. we've got a long way to go.

His parishioners do not seem to me to be saying that it is mighty fine with them that he assaulted a child, or children. They say he has done a lot of building and is a gregarious guy.

There is the problem. Almost all perps come across as being the best, most loving, most caring guys. They may well have good qualities and do good things. But personally, I would not care if the bastard found a cure for cancer. If he harms children he has to be removed from society for the sake of other children.

Bob, it's true they don't defend the man directly. But the slant of the article appears defensive. It seems so unrelated to the story how gregarious he may have been. yikes, right?

the report is a bit muddled, from what my friend tells me, who is one of the two people mentioned here. but the fact is the Feds are working hard on this, thank God.
