Big Up Myself

Im bloody brilliant.

I survived against all the odds, I broke away from the mantle of "victim" I wore for over 20 years.

I've made a life for myself that others envy, I have a have a gorgeous wife, a bright future and friends that find value in what I offer them.

OK so Im marginally overweight, but I can soon shift that given time.

Other than that, Im pretty darn pleased with the way I have turned out considering what crap I was given to deal with as a child.

Im intellectually and academically proficient, I have travelled 2/3rds of the world and 3/4 of my own country.

:p :p

So, I pat myself on my back because Im me, Im someone who I want to be.....

Good for you Dunx!!! :) You aren't just "who I want to be", you beat the odds to become the guy you were MEANT to be. You took your life back and fulfilled your potential.

So sure, bloody brilliant!

Much love,
Larry

There is somewhere in 'Off topic' a 'Standing Ovation' thread. I do not know where, I do not know I want to search it, but I will give it to you here, the standing ovation!

I hope more people here, they can feel such on themself also soon enough.

Part of the reason for this thread was to encourage others to see the good in themselves.

;) And to pat myself on the back, of course!! :p

Dunx,

And the title you found for your thread! Absolutely glorious! Again - bravo. :)

Much love,
Larry

Duncan,

Your post makes me happy. For you and all of us. WTG JZ

Lots of love,

I guess I'm not 'bloody brilliant', because I don't get the 'big up myself' title! But I can figure it out, context-wise.

Nice post JapanZen! Congratulations for finding such self-like at this point, and being able to be rightfully proud of your accomplishments. Patting you on the back from here as well, and hoping to be in such the same state of mind soon.

"Big Up" comes from HIP HOP talk and (as I understand it) means to show an enormous amout of respect for someone.

Now, the question is why is a slightly overweight 36 year old from the midlands of the UK using hiphop talk??

I dont know, it just sounded good at the time and I felt it was appropriate!!

BIG UP LEOSHA!! :D
