Another guy.

Sunday, at my regular VFW meeting, I started talking to a guy I have been conversing with for a while. He disclosed to me about his own rape in the military. He is a veteran of the first Iraq war in Kuwait. He told me he has never disclosed it before because he was, like me, afraid he wouldn't be believed and, also, like me, he is gay. There are literally hundreds of MST male victims out there, and most will keep their silence.

I don't know why he told me, but I told him I believed him and how it wasn't his fault. I have encouraged him to come here as well as tell his Doc at the VA about it. And told him I would go with him if he wanted me too. I hope he does both. My heart breaks that another soldier had to endure this as well. I won't mention his name in case he comes here.
You are such a good friend. It warms my heart to know there are people like you in the world...particularly these days when it's hard to see the good.

Thank you and thank you for your service to the country.
