Another first

A member who is from out of town is visiting southern California for a few days and offered to meet me.

Took a lot to get up the courage to do it, but told him I would meet him today.

Called his cell twice and there was no answer. Began to think I was a fool for doing it. But I went over to his hotel and rang up his room. Turns out his cell doesn't work in the hotel.

So I met my first male survivor and it didn't kill me. I'm glad I didn't follow my fear and just drive away. I was nervous, but it was OK. Even when he clapped me on the back, it was OK. Normally I don't like people touching me.

So that means I know I can handle meeting people at the retreat in October! :D

To be able to totally lose your mind and then go to autum retreats to discuss issues with people who mostly know that you don't like to be touched sounds like a pretty good deal. You will probably have feelings of self-enpowerment and be really, REALLY! glad to get back home. Best of luck and do us all good. Someday I'd like to help someone.
