Allow Me To Introduce Handy Andy
Hello All:
As you may recall, I am a gay man and my partner of almost 21 years is Andy. For a while I didn't feel safe having Andy come to this site. I was just starting on the road to healing and felt funny talking to Andy about my sexual abuse issues. But you are such a great group of people, I know he will find much support. Support that he could really use right now.
For the time being, Andy will mainly post in the Family and Friends area. And I will mainly post in the Gay Survivors Forum. That way, we each can have a bit of space to express ourselves, without worrying too much about what the other might be thinking. I'm sure you understand what I mean, am I right?
However, I think I should make it clear that Andy is also a survivor. Right now, his own issues don't feel as pressing as mine. But in time that may change. As Andy gets to know some of the survivors here, and their significant others, he may feel the need to share his own story. In which case, I want him to feel free to post just about anything, anywhere. Does that make sense?
So I just wanted you to know that today or tomorrow Handy Andy will be joining you. And if you like, you could add a little greeting to this thread to make him feel welcome.
I know he's in good hands!
Thanks everyone.
Jasper
