A TOOL THAT MAY HELP US
hello men:
i was reading a post on birthdays and a member had a suggestion that sounded great. Adrian2 said that on a difficult day a person can do a number of things to help themself feel better. one of his suggestions was:
to write yourself a letter and say all the things you would want to hear from an imagined parent.
i read that and it was like a light bulb came on in my head. that sounds like a great idea. like an act that could be healing and self-loving. i may not feel up to doing it right now but it sounds like a wonderful idea. if any of you give it a try let us all know the outcome with a quick post on the board.
once a therapist had me write a letter to myself. a letter from the boy i was to the man i am. i used my non-dominant hand for the writings of the boy inside me. when the letter was done it helped me feel better. it really did.
that is why i am listing this post. may it be of help to us. that is all. sincerely,
bec
