Ah, my chest feels lighter tonight. It feels good.

I finished my first draft of a letter to my perp #1. He'll never read it, but it feels good to have gotten it out and in print. Heck, I don't even know if he is still alive. All I know is I can't find him and he has never been arrested in Michigan for a felony. There are still a lot of holes in the letter, there's a lot of holes in my memory of that time. Some have filled themselves in during the writing. I was trying to remember, the mind still blank and the page began to fill.

Ah, the load on my chest is lighter tonight. Now I can enjoy the sounds of crickets out in the distance.

Bill - What a tough job but you did it! You took back from the perp some of what they stole from you! I celebrate with you the weight you took off your shoulders. Makes you feel like standing a little taller!!

Howard :)

Bill,

The full importance of this act cannot be expressed in mere words. Congratulations for taking the plunge and putting your head in the lion's mouth--it didn't hurt a bit.

Putting it out on paper means getting out of you, to where it has shape, size, weight, volume, density etc. and can now be circumscribed and controlled. Now it is just dead description: you are the one that is living, not it.

They say that for some, it is good to burn something like this ritualistically as a way of reclaiming and then finding closure.

Stay well and thanks for showing us how its done,

Ron

Bill,

Congratulations. I hope there are many sounds and songs that you can enjoy now. I tried once to write such a letter; maybe now I'll go back and try again.

Thanks for your example,

Joe

I wrote a letter once I think I sent it. I know where he lves, he never moved. It does help to write things out. I am glad you were able to write something Bill.
