A Question No One Wants To Answer
Jasper

You might just need to take a deep breath and remember that we are your friends. All of us have problems and sometimes they become overwhelming to the point that we feel like we are drowning. At that time we will fight even those who are trying to save us. Remember fighting the water will always take you down. If you can relax, you will float.

We are all Survivors - I've certainly had more arguments with myself than I've ever had/seen here.

Please everyone feel free to speak - do it with consideration for others, but please speak up...it's the best thing I ever learned to do.

Best wishes ...Rik

Hi,

I don't think anyone has a choice on the matter of remembering SA.

I guess your story is that you had a good portion of it blocked out and then at age 50 it came back to you.

Well some people have it blocked out and some don't. I guess the ones who had it blocked out figured out a way as a child to not have to think about it. Some people when they get older remember and some don't I guess it is based on what is going on in their lives that triggers the memories and doesn't trigger the memories.

Then there are some people who remember a good portion of it and either suffer all the time because they don't know how to work with the materiel or they go for help because they know they are hurting. I guess going for help is depenedent upon once again their life circumstances and their level of intelligence and other factors (society, available help, etc).

In my case I had it blocked out but I had an anxiety problem and wanted to solve it so I worked at it and then remembered what happened.I am still working at it after 25 years.

I think the bottom line is: is there a valid therapy that works to the satisfaction of the person or not no matter when you remember it.

That is the question.
