finally back online. wifi was out as the neighbors were preparing for a commitment ceremony at their house, having been together for 9 years. I was very touching and honest. and a little over-the-top. we loved it! will show the pics sometime when I get back to civilization.
don't know what to tell you about Tom, except that he likes you and he lives in Miami, not Toronto. I like Tom, so may I recommend that if you invite him up to visit, you lay out some groundwork so that there are no false expectations and you can enjoy his visit rather than fear it. His mom died recently and I know that he could use some distractions.
You are starting a new chapter in your life now, so don't get bogged down by feelings of obligation unless they are very important. Focus you energies on the things that interest you and give something back to you. and remember that none of this comes quickly. It is one of the hardest things to do, moving to a strange city, knowing no one and not having the work thing connecting you in as well. ;-)
chin up and maybe you should find out more about the cocktail dress jogger.... ;-)
